The entire time I painted this little guy, I felt connected to the moment my big brother, Casey, took this picture in Tanzania. He’s a very talented photographer. When we were little, Casey and I would search for bugs and critters under logs and in the woods. Any vacation we went on, we would need a net as soon as possible to wade in the bay at low tide. His calling has always been to animals. Casey has been my hero for most of my life. To me this piece celebrates that both of our “dream jobs” coming true.

These pictures don’t really do the justice of seeing the detail in person. The leaves and chameleon are double coated with a satin varnish, the background is double coated with a matte varnish.
